The quiet before the storm ...

With Fair about to start here in less then a week, I am enjoying these last few quiet days before we add the business of fair to our regular busy schedule.

Yesterday was check in for some of the kids exhibits. Their Baked Goods and Poultry goes in Thursday. I turned in my photo yesterday and was really bummed when I realized that the Cheesecake that I was planning on entering was due yesterdays with the photo. Bummer !!! Looks like I will make it for us to enjoy here at home. I helped with the checking in process of all the fair exhibits. I enjoy that and seeing all the creative ideas the kids come up with . Not sure if I will be helping with Thursday's check ins or not. Fair begins Friday the 11th.

I got all of Maisy's natural meds for the heart worms. She has been on them since Thursday night. I can't really tell if they are working yet and I'm sure I haven't given them just as directed. There is a lot to take each day, twice a day.
She takes about 5 or 6 in the am and 5 in the pm. She has not coughed since starting them, but her breathing is still a little heavy. Although the coughing wasn't often before, only when she was running around or got excited. So we will see.

I'm attempting to do a gluten free diet. I have an autoimmune disorder that would greatly benefit how I feel by not having Gluten and by watching my blood sugar. My blood sugar has been running on the high side as well. It's been difficult because there is gluten in so much. It's definitely a learning process. I'm hoping to see some results. One thing that I have noticed is that when I do the gluten free I have no intestinal issues, but when I don't watch what I'm eating I can tell the difference. I need to learn how to make gluten free bread though because 6.00 a loaf is crazy.

  1. Hi Roberta,
I have a friend who writes a blog on gluten free nutrition, if you're interested.
    Enjoy the fair!
